Steel Tier

We have immediate openings for qualified Steel Tiers in our Rebar department. These are permanent full time positions working 40 hours per week. We are seeking experienced, motivated, hardworking individuals to join our Unionized pre-cast concrete facility in Richmond, BC.

In this position individuals will know how to tie rebar, fabricate reinforcing cages safely and efficiently per drawings and applicable tolerances.

Job Duties:

  • Tieing rebar to fabricate reinforcing cages per drawings and applicable tolerances
  • Read and interpret drawings to accurately fabricate the required bent reinforcing bars
  • Consistently produce quality products within tight tolerances with attention to detail
  • Coordinate with supervisors for material orders and coordinate duties as needed
  • Maintain a clean work space and work respectfully in shared work areas

Capabilities:

  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Able to use hands and frequent movement of wrists for long periods of time (tieing and twisting)
  • Able to learn quickly and keep up with tight schedule
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Good organization and communication skills
  • Able to complete physically demanding work with significant periods of standing, kneeling and tieing metal

Requirements:

MUST:

  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Available to work full time (40 hours/week) Monday to Friday
  • Occasional Saturdays may be required
  • Shiftwork is required, must be available to work all shifts
  • Experience working with hand tools
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Safety conscious
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Be able to work with a team as well as independently
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Have a Mechanical aptitude
  • Have good organization skills
  • Have Steel-toed safety boots
  • Have reliable transportation

ASSET(s):

  • *Experience in Precast Concrete

Work Site Environment:

  • Safety is highest priority: steel toed boots and other PPE mandatory
