Con-Force Structures Ltd. is a Richmond, BC-based concrete precast manufacturing company specializing in pre-stressed pre-cast concrete for customized structural, architectural and engineered products. Our products include heavy industrial bridges, parkades, stadiums, buildings, dock structures, hollowcore flooring, rapid transit lines, deck panels, box beams and double tee’s.

 

We have immediate, permanent, full-time, entry-level, unionized, openings for General Labourers. The incumbents will work as part of a production crew in all aspects of pre-cast concrete production, i.e. stripping and setting up of forms, pulling strand, assisting with stressing, pouring and vibrating concrete, basic concrete finishing, basic steel tying, general housekeeping etc.

 

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

Swamping assisting crane operators

Cleaning forms and oil beds

Organizing tools

Pulling strand before tensioning

Placing and finishing concrete

Basic steel tying

Basic vibrating

General housekeeping at and around your workspace and the facility

Any other duties as required

 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

Physically demanding

Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Working with concrete

Handling heavy loads

Standing and or bending/kneeling for extended periods

 

Work Site Environment:

All work is performed at our manufacturing facility

Fast paced, high productivity

Hazards include noise, dust, and heavy equipment

 

Requirements:

Ability to speak, read and comprehend written instructions in English

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment

Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week Monday – Friday, various start times

Safety conscious

Must have good organization skills

Must be reliable

Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Safety is the highest priority: steel toed boots that come above the ankle is a must

*Experience in Precast Concrete an asset

*Vibrating and or Float experience an asset

 

Compensation is based on a combination of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), qualifications and experience. MSP, Health and Dental Benefits are provided through the Union after successful completion of your probationary period. GRRSP contribution of $1.50/ hour worked are provided through Con-Force after successful completion of your probationary period, which is 90 days worked, per the CBA.
