We are seeking motivated, hardworking individuals to join our Unionized pre-cast concrete facility in Richmond , BC . We have immediate opening for a Receiver in our Stores (Purchasing/Receiving) department, reporting to the Plant manger. This is a permanent full time position working 40 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will work independently and at times will work as part of a team on the production floor assisting in other areas of the Precast Production doing Labour related work.

Regular Duties:

  • Inspects and counts incoming goods, tags, and quarantines items appropriately and notifies the appropriate department or personnel of the receipt of these materials
  • Coordinates incoming freight, including preparing bills of lading and informing internal customers of delivery details
  • Monitor inventory levels in Stores, Paint Room, and Chair room
  • Ensures stores is organized, tidy (5S) and safe
  • Maintains proper inventory records and perform physical inventory counts as required
  • Ensures compliance to quality and safety systems and procedures
  • Maintains the SDS, online and paper copies
  • Manages the employee coverall (uniform) program
  • Organizes and manages new employee lockers, hard hats and other required PPE
  • Operating the forklift when required
  • Other duties as required

Adhoc/Labourer Duties:

  • Swamping assisting crane operators
  • Maintaining the CHUCK room when required
  • Cleaning forms and oil beds
  • Organizing tools
  • Understand basics of quality control
  • Upkeep and maintaining housekeeping; cleaning work space on a regular basis

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Handling heavy loads
  • At times standing for extended periods

Work Site Environment:

  • Safety is highest priority: steel toed boots and other PPE mandatory
  • Fast paced, high productivity
  • Hazards include noise, dust, and heavy equipment


  • Strong computer skills is a must (MS Office)
  • Secondary school and previous experience with Purchasing/Receiving is a strong asset
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English
  • Strong communication skills
  • Forklift operator’s license is a strong asset
  • Experience working with hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Safety conscious
  • Must have good organization skills
  • Reliable and highly motivated
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Must have Steel-toed safety boots that come above the ankle
  • Must have reliable transportation (transit is not available for early shifts in our area)
  • Must have willingness to learn, take initiative, and work as a part of the team
  • Shiftwork is required, must be available to work all shifts
  • Consent to Criminal Record Check
  • Experience in Precast Concrete an asset

Compensation is based on the collective agreement, qualifications and experience. Health Benefits are provided through the Union after successful completion on probationary period (90 days worked).
