Junior Accountant
The individual will work as a Junior Accountant in a fast‑paced environment as part of the finance and accounting team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, detailed oriented individual, with strong written and verbal communications skills. A critical and analytical thinker, focused on quality work and meeting deadlines while eager to grow with our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for data entry and processing vendor invoices,
- matching AP invoices with respective PO /delivery slips / tickets,
- Credit card management and assisting with reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards at month end,
- Reconciling vendor statements and following-up on accounts with variances,
- Set up of new projects, uploading budgets and budget revisions,
- Prepare interim data for GST / PST filing, and,
- Create journal entries to reallocate project costs in accordance with ASPE.
Desired Skills and Experience
- two years’ experience in accounting, preferably for companies in the manufacturing and/or construction industries,
- Strong work ethic, sense of responsibility and confidentiality,
- Strong communication (both verbal and written), and analytical skills,
- An organized self-starter who is attentive to detail and able to work independently,
- Advance MS office (specially Microsoft Excel)
- Working towards, or planning to work towards, a CPA designation
- Sage 50 /100 experience an asset but not mandatory
